Materials
to be used :
- Ordinary
Portland Cement.
- Sand for
mortar screed.
- Hiflex
HF-1000 (abbreviated to HF-1000), an EVA synthetic high polymer
emulsion for mortar or tile setting packed 18kg per tin can.
- Meji Cement
(Tile Joint Cement), packed in a 25kg paper bag.
Application
Procedure
A : Cleaning
of Background
Cleaning with
brush and water to remove laitance and unsound surface layer and
debris.
B : Treatment
of Background (Primer)
Apply HF-1000
diluted 3 times (HF-1000 : Water = 1 : 2) by brush or roller or
spray.
Usage : HF-1000
......... 0.05 Kg/M2 (approximate)
C : Setting
Mortar (Cement Sand Render)
C/S Render shall
be applied within 3 days of applying HF-1000 primer.

Note :
- Each coat
of mortar for the setting bed shall not exceed 10mm in thickness.
Apply an additional coat to build up required thickness after
the previous coat is sufficiently cured.
- Cure each
C/S rendering with water sprinkling.
- Cure each
layer for 4-7 days before constructing the next layer.
D : Tile

Note :
- Moisturize
and soak the surface of the setting bed with water overnight.
- Apply mortar
on the back of tile in about 2-3mm thickness, and set the tile
on the prepared wall surface at once (Known as the "Buttering
Method"). Or apply mortar on the well prepared wall surface
wall surface and set the tile on the mortar at once (Known as
the "Floating Method").
- Tap and press
the tile surface well after tile setting to ensure the tile joint
is fully occupied with mortar.
E : Grouting

F : Cleaning
Tile Surface
After completion
of tile setting and grouting. Wipe off excess mortar with sponge.
Further mortar
smudge should be removed with 3% solution of industrial hydrochloric
acid after washing surface with water. This shall be done after
the grouting has been cured for seven days.
G : Remark
Pot life of
cement mortar mixed HF-1000 is within 1 hour.
Usage rate given
above is for guidance only. Actual usage rates may vary upon different
climatic and site conditions. Wastage of materials has not been
included on the above rates.
